Jim Quigley
Dr. Jim Quigley has worked to improve the health, nutrition, and management of young calves for more than 30 years. He earned his B.S. (1979) and M.S. (1983) from the University of New Hampshire and his Ph.D. (1985) from Virginia Tech.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Quigley has served as an Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee, as well as senior positions at APC, Incorporated, Diamond V Mills, and Cargill, Incorporated. Jim currently is Managing Director Calf Notes Consulting, a consulting and education firm in Saint Petersburg, FL.
Dr. Quigley is widely recognized as a leading scientist in calf biology and management. He has authored more than 110 peer-reviewed scientific publications and is an internationally sought-after speaker on topics including calf immunity, health, nutrition, and management. He has presented at conferences and symposia around the world and has consulted with governmental agencies on issues related to calf health.
In 1997, Dr. Quigley founded Calf Notes, an educational platform dedicated to translating complex scientific principles into practical, on-farm applications. The resource has remained freely available since its inception and continues to serve producers, veterinarians, nutritionists, and advisors worldwide.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Quigley is an accomplished endurance athlete. He has completed more than 25 marathons and two half-Ironman triathlons. He enjoys biking, swimming, and especially running. He lives in Fort Myers, when not traveling for speaking and consulting engagements.
